**The garden is doing pretty good so far.
**One of the things I am good at, especially in my job, is recognizing patterns. I expected something yesterday at the office and I was not disappointed.
**The kids came to me early last night and will be with me for ten days. I'll take them at every opportunity.
**I was thinking of something to do with the kids this weekend and thought I remembered seeing something about a fair. Turns out that I was thinking of the Florida State Fair in the Tampa area this weekend. I was probably reading the website for the Lakeland newspaper where a friend of mine is a reporter. Their website looks like the local one here. I say all of this to mention that they were advertising for the "Deep Fried Dash", which I thought was some kind of "all you can eat" venture. Nope. It's an actual race. Even with my new running shoes I am disappointed.
**While on my morning walk, I went down a different trail that runs adjacent to a park I've taken my kids to. I ended up seeing a type of fern I had never seen before and decided to go back at lunch to try and uproot a few to take home and plant. When I got to the location, I ran into a friend of mine from the office, who is a fellow plant enthusiast. She has an app that's too expensive for my tastes that identified it as a netted chain fern. Also, I managed to pocket dial the Chinese restaurant by my house while I was walking.
**Shifting standards is not a standard.
**Strange, but I always associate the second Meat Puppets album wito th this time of the year. I bought it my junior year of high school and fell in love with it. I've been listening to it while in line to pick up the kids.
**I'm trying to listen to more albums straight through rather than shuffle a playlist constantly.
**My daughter gave me a Dr. Seuss bookmark that she was given in school. I asked her why and she told me it was because I read so much. I told her that I have three books being delivered on Monday, so this is right in time.
** It is very nice to be home so early in the afternoon.
